Tessa had been out enjoying herself, or trying to anyway. She had been to the library, she had been everywhere in the mall just trying to do normal things and find out exactly what she liked to do, which so far she was enjoying most of it... there of course was things that would make it better but all thing considered she would be able to return home feeling successful. She had been heading down trade street, only 4 blocks from her home when she caught the window and that sick smell that came with her races enemy, and a quick glance over her shoulder told her he was closing the distance behind her so with a quick thought of survival she had ducked into the first place she could get to, her chest rising and falling with her heavy breath and rapid heart rate. She had no idea what the place was but as she looked up to see where her safety had just been won and she swallowed heavily, it was a club and she should leave but that thing would probably wait to see if she was stupid enough to rush back out!
Tessa took a small breath to steady herself, she had to wait at least 20 minutes... she wasn't leading that thing back to her home, not for all the money she possessed! But where did she go, she would take a quick glance around and there was two spots open on the bar so she moved to the one that was the least crowded by people and had the best views of the door so she could make sure the lesser wasn't going to come in after her, and so she knew the path she could take to leave in 19 minutes and 40 seconds.... oh this was not good... there was too many people...too many she shouldn't be here she didn't have permission... no she didn't need permission... but she felt wrong being here ... she should risk it... no she told herself looking to the bartender.
'Coke please, with Lime.' The voice caught Ris' attention, and he looked up across the bar. He was being hit on by a drunken floozy... human, from the smell of her, and he couldn't even bring himself to listen anymore. This new face, though, the source of that voice....
He pushed up off the bar, mumbling some excuse or another to extricate himself from the rabble. "Glen Garioch 1797, neat." He barely turned to the bartender to order his drink, leaning against the bar with one elbow. Staring at a woman was really an art form, and by most the same care as staring at the sun should be taken. You simply don't. You get a glimpse of her and then you look away. Ahvarice found himself trying to stare, but he let his gaze sweep, landing on the woman down the bar every pass but never staying on her long enough for her to complain about the attention. If their eyes did meet, she would be met with a warm land carefree smile, eyes lit up by it and the whole face relaxed and jovial.
Tessa would smile when the bartender passed her the beverage and she took a moment to glance around the floor. Maybe there was a corner seat or table she could sit, when she couldn't catch one at a glance she began to return her attentions to her drink but her eyes caught with a males only a few seats from her at the bar. With little hesitancy she dropped her gaze down to her hands which were gently resting with her drink on the bar. Tessa took a breath it was nothing it was going to happen he was probably looking at someone else she assured herself as she lifted her drink to her lips, using the motion to glance out of the corner of her eye, hoping .... she wasn't sure what she was hoping part of her wanted to see him still there but on the other she had to admit part of her mind was hoping that he would simply not be there.
With another sip of her drink she turned so her back was to the bar and that she was watching to crowd she had to stop thinking about leaving it was making her more anxious so with a hint of desperate panic she was looking for a different focal point. Anything, man why was she coming up with nothing... maybe that guy would come talk to her...wait would that make it better or worse.... she wasn't too sure which one it would be.
This woman looked like a deer caught in headlights, or perhaps a wild animal caught in a trap. Ahvarice licked his lips slowly, swearing for just a moment he could almost taste her fear on the air. He watched her a bit more openly as she gazed around the bar, letting his eyes wander. Her fiery red locks made him think that perhaps under all that scared, worried exterior laid something wild, waiting to get out. Perhaps, if he played his cards just right, he'd find out. He pushed up off the bar, adjusting his jacket on his shoulders and walking towards the woman. He didn't touch her, as that would be rude, but he cleared his throat to make sure he had her attention.
"I couldn't help but notice you were here alone. Perhaps you would enjoy some company?" His voice was smooth and he kept the volume low. His head was tilted down and he looked almost up at her, a wholly feral gaze that was hidden behind a disarming smile.
Tessa jumped giggling a little after he cleared his throat her gaze moving over to him from the side as she blushed feeling silly for jumping but she would nod softly " I might enjoy some company" she blushed licking her lips nervously, her mouth feeling a little dry.
" I'm Tessa, Tessa James" she smiled holding her hand out and she glanced around the bar again she couldn't believe that he was talking to her, she knew she was pretty she thought she was anyway and she worked at keeping her body in nice shape but she didn't think that would trump the girls that seemed to be giving things away for free...wouldn't most guys rather to go for that.... don't get her wrong she wasn't into the whole marriage thing really or at least it didn't have to be but she thought it was odd that there was more then one female looking at him with that please notice me and he picked her, probably the only one not giving that vibe... or was she... she would sip her drink a little.
Ahvarice took the proffered hand and lifted it to his lips, kissing the top of her hand gently. "Ahvarice, and it is a pleasure to meet you Tessa." He grinned at the cute and nervous way she reacted to him, releasing her hand and letting his land on the bar lightly. "The bar is a bit crowded. Why don't we go find a seat, over there?" He pointed towards a couple of empty tables, and pushed up off the bar. His voice was steady, and the words were presented as a question but his tone spoke of a man who was not used to being told no. He was already heading to the table and pulling out a chair for Tessa, giving her a half-cocked smile as he looked up towards her.
Tessa swallowed her breath catching in her chest as he brushed his lips against her hand, her eyes tracked every movement of it till it was let go and back at her side,. She would nod licking her lips a little bit as she followed his gesture to the tables but he didn't wait for her answer he was already moving and she would pause a moment.... why did she want to follow him... maybe it was nothing but she would start to follow him, smiling as he pulled out her chair. It took her a step and turn to be able to slid up onto the seat her short shorts shifting to show even more of her short toned legs. She would rest her hands on the table, her drink in hand as she shifted a little in the chair her foot dangling from the high stool and she would blush " I swear they make these things for giants" she giggled and it was a soft giggle which held the edge of nervousness to it.
" So um " she paused thinking " Ahvarice do you come here often?" she figured she should at least try being polite she was not so great at the one on one interactions at least in public... bars... they could go to the pool and she would be fine, or paintball... the alleyway... anything else really.
Ahvarice pushed in Tessa's chair, giving a grin at how small she looked in the chair. He licked his lips as he gave into temptation and looked down, standing over her allowing for quite the view. He came around before she noticed him staring, grinning a bit wider at the banal question. He settled into his seat, considering the question as he picked up his own drink. He crossed one leg over the other knee, resting his drink on the outstretched knee. His foot tapped along to the music playing in the club and he smiled, looking directly into Tessa's eyes. "Only when I'm searching for something. And tonight I seem to have found it." His smile widened only a bit and he lifted his drink to his lips, breathing in the aroma and sipping slowly. "And you, Tessa? What is it you do for fun?" He smirked as he changed the question up a bit, licking his lips with a predatory grin.
Tessa offered a small nervous smile as her hues met his, her fingers brushing her strawberry curls back from her face. She listened as a blush crept on her face making her freckles look even more prominent " this would be an interesting place to find anything, I suppose if variety was what you were after" she let out a nervous giggle.
" Oh me... I walk in the park, I read, horseback ride, speak several languages and with the right people some other less outdoor activities" she had no idea what made her feel the need to add that last little bit, but something about the way he was looking at her, or about him maybe made her feel the need to tell him all the details that applied to his question.
Tessa smiled politely before rummaging through her bag and she would check the time on her phone, it had probably long enough she should probably go ... surely the lesser would have gotten bored by now... " Sorry I am just trying to wait out a lesser that was chasing me down the street" she flushed a little
" I'm not about to fight one of them if the choice to do otherwise presents itself."
Somehow the nervous, almost child-like presentation by Tessa had Ahvarice even more enticed. He licked his lips as she gave him that nervous giggle. It sounded like wind chimes in a summer breeze. When she began to speak about her hobbies he leaned forward, showing interest in her every word and resting on his elbows. He smirked at that last one, eyebrows lifting a bit as he slowly ran his tongue along his teeth and lips. His fangs were barely showing, mostly just looking like a pair of sharp incisors at the moment.
"I, too, enjoy some rather less... outdoor activities. Although, some things can be made even more fun if you do them in unusual places." He winked at her as he leaned back, his voice smooth and soft. When she glanced at her watch he was about to ask if she had a place to be, but she answered him. He growled under his breath and looked towards the door, eyes flaring a little bit wild. He gripped the table a little firmly, but then slowly got himself back under control, looking towards Tessa. "No, I should imagine not. I am glad you made it in alright, Tessa." He scooted his chair a little closer to hers, easing around the side of the table and leaving his body language open as he made his way closer to her. "You may stay with me as long as you'd like, until you feel safe enough to leave."
Tessa smiled listening to him, and his voice was nearly memorizing. She found more than once that she was just staring at his lips watching them form the words rather than actually listening to them, but perhaps that was just one of those hungry things? It had been a while since she fed from someone...she hadn't really thought about it but since she was staring and zoning out she was starting to think that something was affecting her...and she didn't feel that scared so hungry was a good answer...
" Are you sure that you don't have a date or someone that you would rather to spend your time with ... I mean... I um ... I am not really dressed for her"
He moved closer and she watched and her heart picked up as she felt her fangs flex a little before retreating and she shook her head ...
" I'm sorry that was rude...I guess it's been a little longer then I remember" she would blush dragging her teeth over her lip causing it to flush in straight lines showing the blood just underneath.
Ahvarice couldn't help but smile a bit wider as Tessa apologized for the flare up of her fangs. He winked at her, slowly and seductively licking his lips. "Don't apologize, at all." He spoke the words softly, but they carried a bit of a command in them; it was obvious he wasn't asking. "And as for where and with whom I wish to spend my time... I am right where I want to be." He leaned a little closer to Tessa, reaching out towards her but stopping. "May I touch your face?" It might seem out of place to anyone watching them, for him to ask before doing, well, anything. But, to Ahvarice that was an important aspect of it. He paused as he awaited her answer, his eyes locked to hers.
Tessa looked to him and she nodded glad that he didn't take it offensively or the wrong way. Though she was surprised that he was so content just sitting with her, she wasn't even dressed for the club and she would take a breath nodding " alright, I just didn't want you to think I was ... well....was going for the damsel in distress in hopes to steal you away from your plans already."
Tessa all but jumped back in surprise when he asked if she would allow him to touch her face, she didn't understand why he would want to touch her face, there was little to no make up, and sure she treated it so it was smooth and clear but why not...was she really considering this, yeah go ahead let him. Her mind was more than putting the thought to her as well so she would nod leaning forward so that he could touch her face " If you wish"
She put her hands on the table her eyes looking to him waiting for him to touch her face, her hands fidgeting a bit along the hard surface as she tried to keep her mind from making a bigger deal then it was... but it was the first time in a while that she had been touched.
